Letting Go by Feeling the Endings...

Identity in motion is a real thing - we evolve, grow, learn, shed and absorb aspects of our identity as our circumstances change.
Sometimes those changes happen TO us which makes it extra challenging. Layoffs, a restructure at work or a new job are examples of things that shift our identity, sometimes without any warning.
It's not just about losing a job (in the example of a layoff) — it's about losing the story you told yourself about who you are. A job loss affects how you make decisions, who you spend time with, how your time is spent, what you talk about with others, how you describe who you are and how you think about your future.
This is your identity in motion. You are letting go of one thing that has been a big part of your identity and will eventually make room for what's to come.
Too often, we want to rush past the emotions and “get on with it.” But here’s the truth: until we honor the ending and feel the feelings, we can’t fully step into the new beginning.
I created a worksheet to help people work with through the endings. Click HERE to retrieve it and please send me any feedback or insights that come from working through it.
Endings aren’t easy, but they’re where we make meaning, and meaning is what allows us to move forward with clarity and strength.
